Día 1
San José → Arenal

The Volcano Wakes Before You Do

You land in San José, grab coffee from a corner sodería, and within three hours you're watching Arenal's silhouette emerge from the clouds at 1,670 meters. The hike starts gentle. Then it doesn't.

La Fortuna Waterfall

500 Steps Down to Something Ridiculous

La Fortuna Waterfall drops 70 meters into a thermal pool ringed by black-rock walls. You'll swim in it. The 500 steps back up are the price of admission — worth every one.

Monteverde Cloud Forest

75 mph Through the Overstory

Thirteen platforms. 3 kilometers of cable. At the apex you're looking down through the canopy at nothing but green, and for a few seconds between platforms you understand why morpho butterflies never leave.

Río Pacuare

Class IV Rapids and No Dry Clothes

The Río Pacuare is 28 kilometers of class III–IV rapids through a canyon so narrow the walls drip. Your guide will yell 'forward hard' and you will paddle like your life depends on it. It doesn't. But you won't know that.

Día 5
Osa Peninsula · Corcovado

The Darkest Green You've Ever Seen

Corcovado holds 2.5% of the world's biodiversity in 400 square kilometers. Jaguars exist here. Tapirs. Scarlet macaws in pairs. By nightfall, the bioluminescent fungi in the undergrowth pulse like the jungle is breathing. You are inside it now.

the jungle doesn't end. you just leave.
